Wow What a Day! The opening of the Triple C - Centro Comunitario y Computacion

Triple C - Centro Comunitario y Computacion

On Thursday, March 12, we inaugurated the Triple C - Community and Computing Center - in Rancho San Francisco, a small community about 15 miles outside of San Miguel.

This is the school where I have been teaching for five years, and previous posts of this blog have talked about my work there with the kids.

Before continuing, take a look at the following Youtube video. It really says it all.

If you still have dry eyes, can you imagine how we felt at this totally unexpected event, where we were fed and feted for our work?

Next week the real work begins. I will, for the first time, start teaching in this building, which has the first internet ever available in this small village. The building will operate as a classroom, community center and internet cafe all year round.

And although we have enough equipment to start - thanks to Computadoras Pro Jovenes - we will need further contributions to pay for internet access, supplies and better computers. Contact me if you wish to make a donation.
